Lord of Thunder Notes & Tips

  • The Lord of Thunder uses the element of lightning and is capable of using long-range energy attacks and melee attacks.
  • This boss moves fast, so it is best to maintain your stamina and equip blood veils or blood codes that can further boost your stamina.
  • This beast has two points that players can target, the body and its face. Attacking its face deals more damage that will further increase in staggering it, however, you will most likely get hit by its attacks. So try to focus on the body first, and if you see an opening, target the face.
  • Most of the attacks of this boss are AoE types, you'll want to make sure you dodge its attacks to avoid getting electrocuted and stunned.
  • Observe the color of its wings and the ones on its face, if it turns purple, it will utilize its long-ranged and energy-based attacks, if you are successful in staggering the beast, it will turn blue which means it will shift into using its melee attacks until it recovers itself.

The only thing better than the horrible camera that stayed permanently glued to his wings in this fight was his instantaneous jumping slash with no tell he keeps spamming.

I had a much easier time w thunder resist gear, esp the thunder resist dlc armor transformed to resist even more thunder. Plus thunder defense skill. Some of its thunder attack was just reduced to like 300 plus only. It seems to be better to roll into it to get it to stop its quick combo. Once you are under it or near it’s back, it will have to reposition itself. It is quite fast and can easily cancel heals if it is combo attacking you.

Information about the color is wrong. Doesn't seem to have anything to do with ranged vs melee. Seems to be a power up that increases speed and probably damage. Starting from None>Purple>Blue>Red. Knocking him down does reset it back to none, though maybe phase 2 is a bit different (might only reduce to purple there).

This boss can’t be as hard as I’m making it. First phase goes perfectly fine, second phase has this single attack where he shoots electricity all over the floor, runs around, and then strikes the entire arena, it always kills me. Am I just terrible? Or is someone else having the same problem?

White lion with wings running around shooting lightning at you... I think I've seen that before somewhere

That is a Dyaus Pita. Same moveset, almost same look just a recolored and beefed up with some new moves Dyaus Pita.

We thinking this thing might be a Vajra reference? The other two have their similarities listed but the jury seems to be out on this big boi
