Insatiable Despot Strategies
Strategy Writeup
For this fight you want to stay in front of him in phase 1, baiting him to attack, dodging through the first swing and then striking him. Hit a few times and then back away and repeat this. If you continue to attack into his back he may spin and strike you so do so at your own risk.
For caster based builds, you can stay away from him, launch a ranged attack (a gift with long range preferably) and bait him into summoning the crystal. Then dodge the crystal and destroy it with your weapon. Attacking the crystal provides ichor as any normal enemy does, so high drain rating for casters is advised. Rinse and repeat until he reaches phase 2. Be careful of him getting too close to you, as he may attack you with his normal moveset instead.
In phase two, you want to try to get behind him as much as you can, and dodge through his attacks. Be mindful of the overhead AoE attack he does, and dodge away when he does this. But otherwise try to stay glued to his ass as much as you can. It's nearly the polar opposite of phase 1.
If you defeat the boss, you will see the writing "Greater Lost Dispersed" upon the screen.

Attacks & Counters
Attack | Description | Counter |
Phase 1 (+50% Health) | ||
Summon Crystal | He will raise his hand to gather Ichor and then after 2 seconds a red circle will appear below your feet and a Crystal will emerge, dealing damage. If you don't destroy the pillar, an enemy will be summoned after approximately 10 seconds. If the player damages him from long range, he will always do this move when the damage connects. | Wait until you see the red glowing circle below you and then dodge either left or right. Attack the crystal until it's destroyed. You can alternatively just keep constantly moving in one direction (provided you have the space) once you see the boss casting the attack. Then smash the crystal to smithereens. |
Leap plunge | Leaps forward while plunging both blades into the ground in a cross motion. Often done after his swipe combo. | Dodge forward into his back and punish while he's recovering. |
Stab leap | It will stab its left blade (your right) to the ground very fast, then will leap forward and stab the other a short distance in front of him. Most often done when in front of him at melee reach. | Dodge pre-emptively into the boss, attack once, then prepare to either follow him for the following leap and attack again, or heal yourself. |
Spin Attack | It will perform a sweep then follows up with a spinning attack that moves the boss a considerable distance forward. Comes out fast and has little recovery. | Try to dodge forward and you'll place yourself behind him. Attack him to deal some damage while he finishes the attack. |
Swipe Combo | It will perform a quick four hit combo of swipes in front of him. Can follow up with a leap plunge. | This attack can deal lots of damage. Try to dodge forward to position yourself behind him. Use the opportunity to attack. |
Phase 2 (-50% Health) | ||
Ichor Rift | It will raise its hand and cast a blood rift made of Ichor that will follow you around dealing damage if it hits you. | Wait until the rift is near and then dodge in the direction it is coming from. This will make the rift go past you entirely. |
Bloody Slam | The boss raises its axe, charging it with blood energy before unleashing it in a wide area at the front with a slam. He cannot move, but he can slightly turn, so you cannot avoid it by staying on his back. | Dodge forward if at melee, or backwards if at range to avoid the attack, but beware of the timing. Punish accordingly. |
Spin Attack | It will perform a fast spinning attack while moving forward. | Dodge forward twice in a row to avoid the attack. Then run to his position and attack him. |
Leap Slam | Raises the axe high up in the air and leaps forward, slamming it into the ground. Has huge AoE range. | Either Dodge into his back to punish at melee, or roll backwards timely to punish at range. |
Sweeping strikes | Hits sideways with the axe twice. Comes out unexpectedly fast. Hitbox has 270° coverage on each side. If the first attack hits you while you're in front of the boss and it staggers you, the second attack will also hit you no matter what, dealing extremely high damage if both attacks connect. |
Always try to avoid being in front of the boss when he's in a neutral position. If trying to dodge this attack, dodge preventively and do so twice in a row. This attack cannot hit you if you're completely behind the boss, but it's difficult to do so consistently because it tends to leap backwards. |

So the Nameless Successor was so weak, Lost can just wander directly into his ramshackle Crypt. Or was the Despot placed there to protect him?
What I find funny personally is that I didn't notice the handle through his chest until like a week or two ago.

Is that correct about its Fire Resistance? I find that Fire Damage is pretty effective against it... but I might have to test again on my second run. I usually fire buff through multiplayer sessions and I see fire working well...

I have no idea where to go after beating this boss and the following cutscene.
Just keep your face in his butt as much as possible and his attacks will all swing past you and miss
