This is a player-created build, done on the latest patch of the game.
Created by Rashtor Nesmarck

Introduction

This build allows to support other players (and even NPCs) while also buffing the user, allowing for increased staying power on exploration. Some of the Gifts here are late-game and this build is meant to help lower-level players, guiding them through the areas completely.

Equipment

Weapon 1: Hanemukuro (Devour)
Weapon 2: Queenslayer Blade (Venom or Stun)
Blood Veil: Queenslayer Thorn
Blood Code: Scathach
Primary Active Gifts: Frost Spike, Chaotic Ash, Gift Extension, Modest Offering.
Recommended Mobility: Normal.

Basics

  • Most of your gifts affect both you and your partner, allowing both to have increased power in different ways, so either of you can pull your own weight if needed
  • Direct offensive options are scarce, so make sure to pick them well depending of the area you're in.
  • When playing with another person, make sure you have Gestures with Voice lines that get your point across. Useful ones to include are:
    • For Resting at a mistle (so you can disengage and come back fully replenished), something that either points down (to a mistle) or makes your character sit down. Voice lines can indicate that you may want to take a break or rest.
    • For indicating a player where to go, either one of the expressions to point in a direction, or one that signals them to follow you. Voice lines to match depending of which one you choose.
    • For interacting more amiably, gestures that Greet and Thank can make you seem more approachable (plus it never hurts to be cordial, even if its a videogame). The voice lines you choose are entirely to you.

Passives

This build benefits the most from having staying power in exploration. While most of the passive gifts listed below are not in a set order of priority, some are better for different situations. Use the ones that suit your playstyle and your partner's the most.

  1. Life Steal: Each kill recovers a small portion of your HP. People tend to overlook this gift on co-op, but it does add up over the course of time, and can provide for some unexpected second winds. There's also a very low chance (of happening) that it revives you if your partner kills an enemy while you're dying, but that's highly unlikely.
  2. Tirelessness: Increases stamina regeneration, which allows you to both fight and explore better.
  3. Augmented Regeneration: Your Regeneration uses on co-op are limited, and this gives you two extra uses. Can be changed once the two extra uses are gone if needed.
  4. Sprinter: For going from place to place. More of a "nice to have" tool instead of a must have.
  5. Fall Damage Reduction: For the very limited instances where you want to fall down without using a ladder and receive damage, this will help you reduce it. However, it can be actively detrimental to your partner if they don't have it allotted too, since they can take fall damage while you don't, and can make them believe the fall is harmless.
  6. Improved Regeneration: This one is very situational. Helping low-leveled people while you are high level tends to nerf your overall stats (including HP), but your upgrades remain the same. This means your max upgraded regeneration can fully heal your HP in one use. Only use this passive if the situation demands it.
  7. Weapon Drain Rating Up: Passive increase to your Ichor gain for weapon attacks. Better suited for fast-paced explorations focused on heavy combat.
  8. One-Handed Sword Mastery: More damage to your bling. Yeah, that's about it. Like the passive above, better for focus on combat.
  9. Increased Gift Speed: Not a must have unlike in builds centered around killing bosses and though enemies. Still, it's a decent increase and its passive, so can be worth taking.
  10. Opportunism: If you want to obtain damage for focusing on status effects against your enemies, this is the passive to go for. It doesn't matter who inflicts the status, only that the enemy has it, so if your partner favors long-lasting status effects, this is a good option to have.

Gifts (In order from top to bottom)

Explanation

Recommended Blood Veil
Frost Spike Elemental spike with the least resisted element combination in the game. You can of course change it depending on your enemy. If the player leans more towards Dark Gift ratings, they can change their Blood Veil and this Gift for another offensive one with low cooldown.
Chaotic Ash This is how you sustain your buffs without directly attacking. The range is short, but you're probably going to need to be at melee in most situations anyways. Has relatively long cooldown, but on exploration it's not as noticeable. Can be replaced with Blood Sacrifice if needed.
Elemental Wall Provides for a short duration a boost to you and your partner's elemental resistances. This scales with your Light Gift rating. Can be replaced for more specific elemental resistance Gift (such as Ice Armor, Raijin's Veil, etc), specially if using a different Blood Veil.
Circular Cleaver/Bloody Impact
  • Circular Cleaver is a DLC Gift which provides damage and high staggering power in a short range around you. It's a good mix of balance between offense and support (as it can knockdown smaller mobs).
  • Bloody Impact's damage is extremely poor, in exchange for extremely high staggering potential (usually knocking back most enemies) and having medium-short range in a sphere around you. Extremely useful for knocking down enemies hanging onto ledges.
Gift Extension Since Gift Extension affects both you and your partner, any gifts that you cast onto your partner are also affected by it (and so are the gifts your partner casts on you). There's rarely a reason you wouldn't use this, specially because exploration sessions tend to be long. The less often you have to recast the better. Queenslayer Thorn/White Vestment/Night Thorn
Bloodsucking Blades/Morale Boost
  • Blooduscking Blades provides Ichor drain rate to both of you, but scales with Dark Gift rating. While this build's Blood Veil's lean more towards Light Gift rating, the player can choose to replace them to better benefit from Bloodsucking Blades.
  • Morale Boost increases the max stamina you both have. Unlike Concentration which is dispelled when receiving damage and only affects the player casting it, Morale Boost is relevant regardless of the situation and affects every ally. It also has the added bonus of making the Focus Gauge more relevant (as entering focus recovers all your stamina).
Regenerator/Gift Prowess
  • Regenerator lasts for a long time, and provides you with increased Healing from your regeneration uses for both you and your partner. Do be careful to not overheal if possible, since you have even more limited regeneration uses on co-op.
  • Gift Prowess increases Gift casting speed slightly, and is a decent alternative if Regenerator is of no use to you and/or your partner (mostly at very low levels).
Modest Offering Modest Offering is solely for reviving people, and is better used when paired with a partner, or on co-op wth a player. Try to make sure the enemy aggresion is drawn to you while reviving your partner.

This setup is meant to be flexible, and benefits all allies (You, your co-op Partner and their NPC/your NPC partner). The Blood Veil choice is mostly tentative, and it can be anything that buffs your build directly. Both players are able to sustain themselves in combat and last long in exploration.
