- Items in Code Vein refers to a variety of consumables, key items, crafting materials, and trading items. All types of items benefit the player in different ways, from acquiring effects that can aid you in battle down to upgrading and strengthening the maximum potential of your gear. Items can be obtained from defeating enemies, spawns randomly in various locations, and can be looted inside chests - These items are currently based off from the Network Test and are still subject to change.
Quick Menu
In Code Vein, items such as Consumables can be managed and added into the quick item slots. This allows players to quickly cycle through their items while in battle without opening the Menu. By doing this, (by default) you can press the left or right arrow key on the D-pad of the Xbox or PS4 Controller to open up the Quick Menu and then pressing the down button to use the item. In this menu, you can also edit which items you want to add into the slots.
Item Management
Whenever you collect various items around the world, these are added into the character's inventory. However, if you reach the maximum capacity of some items, it will automatically be added into the character's storage. To manage which items to bring and store, activate and rest at a Mistle and choose "Storage".

Notes:
- Obtaining roughly 150 trade points on an NPC will unlock the purchase of a max of 8 Chromes from that specific NPC per play through
- The game only checks for points that have been acquired in that playthrough. This means the player can obtain and spend points as they wish. It does not need to be obtained all at once.
- Obtaining approximately 550 trade points on an NPC will unlock unlimited purchase of Chromes (and ichor blends) from that specific NPC.
- The game only checks for points that have been acquired in that playthrough. This means the player can obtain and spend points as they wish. It does not need to be obtained all at once.
- It's more efficient to get a lower amount of points on all NPCs and buy 8 chromes each play through, if the player plans to do NG+ on that character.

Notes:
- A trading item with N/A on the table means "Not Applicable" to that particular character. They will not accept the item, but you won't consume it (or in another sense, you'll get it back). Usually comes along with special dialogue.
- The core item for Trading points are Old-world Materials. These can be exchanged to merchant Shang for Trading Items, at a 1:1 ratio.
- These materials can be obtained as a random drop from Lost enemies. They're more common in the Depths maps, and Lost Invasions tend to be the fastest way to obtain them.
