Impaler is a Weapon in Code Vein. Impaler is categorized as Spears, Halberds, and Polearms. Weapons can be found from Enemies and/or Bosses, acquired as a reward from completing quests, provided by NPCs, and are sold by Merchants.

A thin spear with a sharp head.

Its length exceeds the height of an average person, but it is light enough for sudden lunges.

It was made by eccentric engineers whose products were all awkward to handle, save this weapon, which was made on a whim.

 

Where to find Impaler

• A +3 variant is found in a chest near the Bottomless Shore Mistle in the Howling Pit. Guarded by 2 enemies.
• Depths: Swirling Flood: you'll find a Mutated Sea Urchin and another Ant-Type Executioner, keep going straight where you'll find a lever and a chest above. You'll obtain 1x Impaler Fire in the chest and will trigger the trial of blood once you open it
• Sold by Rin Murasame after finding any version of it.

 

Impaler Notes and Tips

• The Physical Damage of the weapon is the Base Damage plus Scaling Damage. Scaling damage is based on your Character Level.

It's moveset is almost entirely made up of thrusts:

• Light attack chain consists of 3 attacks: Two thrusts and one downward slam.
  • Each of the thrusts move the user forward a slight amount.
  • The slam triggers Impact Wave.
• Special/Combo attack is a step-lunge that pierces the enemy.
  • The distance covered of the lunge is approximately the same as 1 roll on Slow mobility.
  • Can be chained into itself, allowing to cover deceptively long distances with each thrust.
  • Player can interrupt the light attack chain with this move to reset the chain, allowing to use solely pierce damage.
    • This also makes the user move forward considerably in one direction, can be used to cover distance while attacking.
• Heavy attack is a delayed lunging thrust, moving the user forward.
  • The distance covered is equivalent to 1 roll in slow mobility.
  • The reach of the attack itself is equivalent to 2 rolls in slow mobility
• Charged attack takes a brief step back before winding up a thrust forward.
  • This attack has slight vertical angling, and can be lower or higher depending on the enemy's position. 
  • The user barely moves when doing this attack, making it suitable for short calculated distances, but not for keeping pressure.
  • This attack has a damage multiplier of x2.2 before factoring enemy resistances.
