Defensive Order is an Active Gift available for the Hellfire Knight DLC in Code Vein. Defensive Order is a gift found in the Asclepius Blood Code. Through Gifts, players may perform unique actions such as buffing and healing themselves and their Companions, debuffing Enemies or dealing direct damage to enemies.
Defensive Order Information
- Lowers your attack power by 40% and increases physical defense for both you and your partner by roughly 15% (rounded to the nearest integer) for 60 seconds.

Defensive Order Acquisition
- The Lord of Thunder DLC is required to acquire this gift.
- This gift can be found in the Asclepius Blood Code.
Defensive Order Notes
- Stacks with itself (if another player casts it).
- The defense increase only affects physical defenses. Elemental defenses are unaffected.
- Weapon block defenses aren't affected in any way whatsoever.
- This gift benefits the most from the user having innately high defenses. The higher the base, the better. Blood Veils with high physical defense are better suited for this purpose.
- The damage decrease affects Bayonet Shots, Weapon Gift Triggers, Drain Attacks (all of them), and Gift Skills, but not Dark/Light offensive gifts. Drain ratings are unaffected.
- This makes it a suitable defensive tool for pure casters, which can be further stacked upon with gifts like Iron Will.
